STPI-Gandhinagar is one of the 11 STPI jurisdictions having its main centre in Gandhinagar, Gujarat and a sub-centre located at Surat.

Jurisdictional areas covered under the STPI Gandhinagar directorate are Gujarat, Daman, Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli , having directorate office at Tower-1, GIFT City, Gandhinagar.

The STPI office is situated at Gujarat International Finance Tec (GIFT)-City, a planned business district in Gujarat which is new business destination for emerging global financial and IT services. It is a hub for supporting the state-of-the-art infrastructure with special incentives under State IT Policy to the companies from Financial Services through their IFSC set up & other potential service sectors as well.

STPI-Gandhinagar directorate has been the backbone for the growth of software and hardware industry in Gujarat and helped to generate employment and entrepreneurial opportunities to enhancing the economic progress of the region.

STPI registered IT/ITeS/ESDM units under STPI-Gandhinagar jurisdiction contributed Rs. 8,808.76 crore export in FY 2023-24.

The Growth Booster in Gujarat

The Role of STPI in the growth of the IT industry has been tremendous, especially in the case of start-up SMEs. STP scheme the catalyst The STP scheme is a 100 percent export-oriented scheme for the development and export of computer software, including export of professional services using communication links or physical media. This scheme is unique in its nature as it focuses on one product/sector, i.e. computer software. The total exports from the STPI-registered units under STPI-Gandhinagar is Rs. 8,808.76 crore in FY 2023-24.

New Initiatives

FinGlobe CoE @ STPI, GIFT City, Gujarat

FinGlobe CoE at STPI-Gandhinagar, GIFT City incubation space for start-ups in Fintech-Tech Fin & Banking domain has launched in the Month of March 2024 in association with the Department of Science and Technology (DST), STATE GOVT. OF GUJARAT. The financial technology landscape is rapidly evolving, driven by digital technologies. While this evolution offers convenience to end-users, it also presents challenges in terms of security and scalability. The FinGlobe CoE aims to address these challenges, focusing on usability, scalability, and security. The FinGlobe CoE will provide a comprehensive ecosystem, including ready-to-use office space, technical mentoring, support, access to sandbox environments, APIs, financial resources (Angel Fund, Seed Fund, VC, etc.), and networking and marketing support.

STPI-Gandhinagar's Sub-Centers:

STPI has expanded its presence pan-India since its inception in 1991 with 3 centres to disperse tech-driven entrepreneurship to Tier-II/III cities. Today, STPI has 62 centres of which 54 centres are in Tier-II/III cities. These centres have been playing a pivotal role in boosting IT/ITeS/ESDM exports from the respective region, generating employment, and fostering startups to develop software products.
