

The Role of STPI in the growth of the IT industry has been tremendous, especially in the case of start-up SMEs. STP scheme the catalyst The STP scheme is a 100 percent export-oriented scheme for the development and export of computer software, including export of professional services using communication links or physical media. This scheme is unique in its nature as it focuses on one product/sector, i.e. computer software. The scheme integrates the government concept of 100 percent Export Oriented Units (EOUs) and Export Processing Zones (EPZs) and the concept of Science Parks/Technology Parks, as operating elsewhere in the world. To empower the industry and enable them to start their operations immediately, STPI-Noida acquired 1,800 sq. m. space at Ganga Shopping Complex, Sector 29, Noida during 1993-94 and 12 STPI-registered units were operating from the centre. The total exports from the STPI-registered units under STPI-Noida has gone from Rs. 23.56 crore in 1992-93 to Rs. ₹ 51,005.81 crore in FY 2023-24.
Electropreneur Park, Delhi
Electropreneur Park (EP), Delhi is a first of its kind of Incubation Centre in India under public-private partnership (PPP) mode in the Electronic Systems Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) sector. EP is fully funded by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India and it is managed by STPI. Other stakeholders in the project include University of Delhi (DU) as the Academic Partner and India Electronics & Semiconductor Association (IESA) as the Implementation Agency. EP emphasizes on development of product and IP creation in the ESDM space. As a project, EP is envisioned for period of 5 years with a target of successfully incubating 50 startups. The project has received three extensions beyond the initial 5-year period and the last extension was granted by the 8th PRSG up to June2022. Here are the key achievements of EP: • 44 startup beneficiaries from 7 seasons • 30 working prototypes developed • 19 provisional patents • 36 IP filed • 36 new products created • 450 employments generated • 10 startups have received external funding of Rs. 25 lakhs or more • 11 startups have received grants and funding less than Rs. 25 lakhs • Rs. 47.8 crore revenue generated by startups • Rs. 250 crore estimated valuation of all startups
MedTech CoE
To nurture startups in the field of medical electronics & heath informatics by harnessing emerging technologies while developing affordable high-quality equipment, STPI has set up MedTech CoE, a CoE in Medielctronics and Health Informatics at SGPGI Lucknow, by providing a comprehensive ecosystem with incubation facility, mentoring & academic support, lab access, funding & marketing support and IP facilitation. The CoE was launched in August 2020. With a budgetary outlay of Rs. 22 crore, this CoE will nurture 50 startups in medical technology and health informatics. The CoE has been allocated 18,000 sq. ft. plug-and-play space at SGPGI Lucknow. The stakeholders are MeitY, STPI, Govt. of UP, SGPGI and other partners are AMTZ and AIMED. 20 startups are selected in the first cohort.
Establishment of New STPI Centres
1. STPI Dharamshala Centre: State Govt. of Himachal Pradesh has provided 2 acres of land at Chetru, Dharamshala for setting up the STPI centre. STPI has already engaged HSCL as PMC for the same and construction work is likely to be commenced within this year. 2. STPI Panchkula Centre: State Govt. of Haryana has provided approximately 2 acres of land at Panchkula for setting up STPI centre. STPI has already engaged CPWD as PMC for the same and construction work is likely to be commenced within this year. 3. STPI Kanpur Centre: An MoU has been signed between STPI and Govt. of Uttar Pradesh for setting up of STPI Centre at Panki, Kanpur. The State Govt. is in process of transferring the land at Panki, Kanpur to STPI for setting up the centre. 4. STPI Varanasi Centre: STPI is coordinating with Govt. of Uttar Pradesh for setting up STPI Centre at Varanasi. A built-up space of 15,000 sq. ft. has been finalized at Varanasi. An MoU to be signed between STPI and Govt of Uttar Pradesh is likely to happen soon.
Establishment of New CoE
Drone CoE: A CoE in Drone and Robotics at STPI Dehradun is under process. The DPR has been submitted to Govt. of Uttarakhand with a budgetary outlay of Rs. 20 crore for seeking GIA. Stakeholders are identified as Govt. of Uttakhand, ITDA, Drone Federation of India, IIT Roorkee, Idea Forge (industry partner), Industry Association of Uttarakhand, and Confidential Electronics Pvt. Ltd.
RHSDCC Facility
STPI-Noida is establishing Redundant High Speed Data Communication Control Room to cater the needs of industry. The state-of-the-art control room will be equipped with redundant ISPs, highly efficient precision air conditioners, redundant UPS, DG sets etc. Around 20 racks will be installed in the RHSDCC to address the various Datacom & value addition services of industry. The RHSDCC project is near completion & the services will be rolled out shortly for the industry.

FinGlobe CoE at STPI-Gandhinagar, GIFT City incubation space for start-ups in Fintech-Tech Fin & Banking domain has launched in the Month of March 2024 in association with the Department of Science and Technology (DST), STATE GOVT. OF GUJARAT. The financial technology landscape is rapidly evolving, driven by digital technologies. While this evolution offers convenience to end-users, it also presents challenges in terms of security and scalability. The FinGlobe CoE aims to address these challenges, focusing on usability, scalability, and security. The FinGlobe CoE will provide a comprehensive ecosystem, including ready-to-use office space, technical mentoring, support, access to sandbox environments, APIs, financial resources (Angel Fund, Seed Fund, VC, etc.), and networking and marketing support.
