Jaipur is among the 10 top cities which provide a conducive environment for startups to scale up their operations.

To cater to the growing needs of the IT and ITeS startups in Rajasthan, STPI Jaipur has created a state of the art incubation centre of 20,000 sq ft.

This facility provides services like incubation, statutory assistance, office space and value added services like datacom, co-location services, PMC and other benefits.

In conversation with ETGovernement, Arvind Kumar, Director General, STPI shares the details of the benefits that startups can expect from the new incubation facility.

राजस्थान को देश का प्रथम आईटी हब बनाने के लिए केन्द्र सरकार प्रयासरत है लेकिन हम इस पायदान तक तभी पहुंच सकते है जब राज्य सरकार भी इसमें सहयोग करें. सीतापुरा में STPI द्वारा 20 हजार वर्गफुट क्षेत्रफल में बने इनक्यूबेशन हब का उदघाटन के दौरान केन्द्रीय इलेक्ट्रॉनिकी और सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने ये बात कही. उन्होंने कहा की देश मे पिछले 9 सालों मे प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने स्टार्टअप कल्चर को बढावा देने मे जो काम किया है उसी की बदोलत स्टार्टअप्स की संख्या पिछले 9 सालों में बढ़कर 90 हजार हो गयी है.

राजस्थान के युवाओं के जोश और दक्षता को नई दिशा देने के लिए जयपुर में सॉफ्टवेयर टेक्नोलॉजी पार्क्स ऑफ इंडिया (STPI) केन्द्र की स्थापना उपयोगी साबित होगी. राजस्थान वासियों में रिस्क लेने की क्षमता है....और राजस्थान को शूरवीरो की धरती है. राजस्थानवासी किसी काम की शुरुआत जीरो से करते है और ऊंचाई तक पहुंचाते है. उन्होंने कहा कि कोई ताकत नही जो राजस्थान को आईटी सेक्टर मे आगे बढने से रोके सकती है. उन्होंने PM मोदी के बारे में कहा की जो हालत 10 साल पहले हुआ करते थे अब बदल गए है. हिंदुस्तान मे इलेक्ट्रॉनिक मैन्युफैक्चरिंग अब तक 90 बिलियन डॉलर तक हो चुकी है.

और मोबाइल फोन का एक्सपोर्ट भारत से 11 बिलियन डॉलर्स यानि 90 हज़ार करोड़ तक हो चुका है. जिससे करीब 80 लाख लोगों को रोजगार मिला है. उन्होंने चुटकी लेते हुए कहा की इस कार्यक्रम में मुख्यमंत्री गहलोत को भी आमंत्रित किया गया था लेकिन वो आये नही है. उन्हें इस कार्यक्रम में होना चाहिए था. लेकिन इतना जरूर है कि केंद्र सरकार की योजनाओं का राजस्थान को लाभ मिले यह उनकी और हमारी ज़िम्मेदारी है. उद्घाटन कार्यक्रम के बाद केंद्रीय मंत्री अश्वनी वैष्णव ने स्टार्टअप से बातचीत की और उनके विजन को जाना. कार्यक्रम में सांसद रामचरण बोहरा, सांसद राज्यवर्धन सिंह राठौड़, विधायक अशोक लाहोटी, नगर निगम लेटर महापौर सौम्या गुर्जर भी मौजूद रही.

Union Minister for Communications and Electronics & IT Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated a 20,000 sq ft incubation facility at Software Technology Parks of India (STPI)-Jaipur to cater to the needs of Small & Medium Entrepreneurs (SMEs) in the IT & ITeS sector on Thursday.

According to officials, STPIs have always been about empowering businesses to turn their ideas into products and disperse tech-driven entrepreneurship to Tier 2 and 3 cities. As of now, there are 63 STPI centres all over the country among which 55 are in Tier 2 and 3 cities.

On Thursday at Jaipur, while interacting with individuals of the IT/ITES industry who joined the inauguration event, the minister said that while working at the STPI, all they have to do is bring a laptop and start doing their work, develop the technology, while the STPI will help them with providing all the additional support.

STPI offers statutory, data communications, incubation and PMC services, among other things. It also serves as a liaison between government and industry in order to promote and support the IT & ITeS sector.

At the inauguration, Vaishnaw said: “Rajasthan’s entrepreneurs are known worldwide, and this is because of the risk-taking abilities of the people, as well as their hard-work mentality. And no one can restrict the possibility of Rajasthan becoming an IT powerhouse.”

He also indicated that to make that happen cooperation and enthusiasm would be needed from those who wish to establish their startups and the state government, while the Centre will help them to achieve the goal.

Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday said that in the last nine years, the number of start-ups in the country increased to 90,000 due to the promotion of the startup culture by the Modi government.

He said the central government is trying to make Rajasthan the first IT hub of the country but it is possible when the state government also cooperates on this front, according to a release.

The minister was speaking at the inauguration of the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) centre here.

To meet the growing needs of the IT industry and entrepreneurship in the state, STPI has set up an incubation facility at Sitapura Industrial Area.

He said that setting up the STPI centre in Jaipur would help in making Rajasthan an electronics manufacturing hub.

Jaipur MP Ramcharan Bohra, mayor of Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation Somya Gurjar and others were also present.
